The Cake Slice Bakers have a new book for 2018!
I’m very excited that we will be baking through The Perfect Cake from America’s Test Kitchen! The book will be released on March 27, 2018, but we were very lucky to have the opportunity to bake from this book prior to release. Thank you America’s Test Kitchen! #atkcake
My choice for this month was King Cake, in honor of Mardi Gras. I can’t really resist a cake that is yeast risen and will double as breakfast this week for us! Light fluffy yeast dough layered with cinnamon, brown sugar and pecans. It’s spectacular. And… ahem… my apologies for the piece missing in the first photo. Someone in my household didn’t get the message that it was still warm and I hadn’t taken photos!

Looks great. I had to laugh at the missing piece – my husband won’t touch anything I cook until he’s heard from me that photos have been taken!

He didn’t realize it still needed icing! So he assumed I had taken photos.

I live in constant fear the someone will take a sample before taking the pictures! My youngest swiped a finger through the icing this time but that was easy to hide. Your cake looks delicious!
