This caught my eye immediately. Who doesn’t like cream cheese filled cakes and pastries?! Although, I do admit, I took a slightly different turn for serving and it’s interpretation. I left off the topping- I didn’t have almonds, but had full intentions of subbing with another nut… and then I completely forgot about it until I had the cake in the oven and looked at the other counter. Oops.
I also baked in a bundt pan instead of a tube pan.
Then after slicing it, another idea hit me. This would make a GREAT base for strawberry shortcake. I was right. This was fabulous!
Very happy to be back in the cake baking game post wedding and honeymoon (life is getting back to normal!). Thanks for a great month, The Perfect Cake by America’s Test Kitchen and Cake Slice Bakers!
Each month The Cake Slice Bakers are offered a selection of cakes from the current book we are baking through. This year it is The Perfect Cake from America’s Test Kitchen #atkcake. We each choose one cake to bake, and then on the 20th – never before – we all post about our cake on our blogs. There are a few rules that we follow, but the most important ones are to have fun and enjoy baking & eating cakes!
Follow our Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest pages where you can find all of our cakes, as well as inspiration for many other cakes. You can also click on the thumbnail pictures below to take you to each of our cakes, or visit our blog where the links are updated each month.
